Greta hasn't been the only one of the Gustafson family who became an artist in movies. Also her 7 years older brother Sven and her 2 years older sister Alva have been involved with the filmindustry in Sweden.
Sven started his little career in 1929. He was clever enough to call himself Sven Garbo. Two further movies he was starring had been released in Sweden and in the USA. Unfortunately he wasn't a talented actor himself and just the famous name Garbo didn't help him to achieve such a career he was dreaming of. He left the industry and studied art, married and lived his further life in Europe, USA and Mexico.
Alva was more talented. And she was a very goodlooking girl. Beside her job at an office, she made some extra money together with her sister Greta playing a tiny part in the Swedish production En lyckariddare in 1921. In the following year she made two more films in her home country. Maybe she would have become a big star (it is said she had received an offer to go to Russia) if a cruel fate wouldn't have hit her. Alva died on April 21st, 1926 from cancer while her sister Greta was just filming The Temptress.
