Tiny Toon Adventures: Fields of Honey
(USA, 1990)

Introduction
Tiny Toon Adventures (commonly known as Tiny Toons) is an American animated comedy television series that was broadcasting from September 14, 1990 through May 28, 1995. It was the first collaborative effort of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation.

A virtue of this satirical was its reverence for Old Hollywood and cartoons of the past. The episode Fields of Honey is all about that.

While searching the film vault for a female cartoon character to act as her mentor, Babs Bunny discovers Honey of Bosko and Honey. She then builds a theater to show Bosko and Honey shorts, and it becomes massively popular.

Honey already spoofed Garbo In the 1933 short Bosko in Person (USA 1933). In Fields of Honey, her Garbo spoof is very much a ‘remake’ of the 1933 spoof.

The plot
Babs Bunny wonders why she's the only student at Acme Looniversity without a classic Looney Tunes star to mentor her (for example, Buster Bunny has Bugs Bunny, Plucky Duck has Daffy Duck).

She discovers the reason when she finds out about a female cartoon star named Honey who faded into obscurity and became a recluse after the 1930s (much like Garbo). Babs watches one of Honey's short cartoons and is thrilled to discover that Honey does celebrity impressions, just like her.

Honey and Bosko are back

After declaring, "I'm the biggest stars in Hollywood!" Honey does several impersonations, including Mae West, Betty Boop, and Harpo Marx. She starts by pulling out a dress and wig to do an impression of Garbo saying, "I want to be alone" in Grand Hotel.

Honey is ‘doing Garbo’ again…after nearly 60 years.

This inspires Babs to do a Garbo pose of her own. The scene is a sweet and fun way to celebrate both Greta Garbo and the iconography of Hollywood's past.

Available on the Tiny Toon Adventures Season 1, Vol. 1 DVD
