Garbo dolls by Juan Albuerne

Those amazing "Garbo dolls" are repainted and re-styled by Juan Albuerne. Albuerne lives in Gijon, a town in the North of Spain, Europe. The dolls that you will see here are mainly 11,5" dolls.

Juan repaints his movie stars from dolls such as Barbie or Christie; in some cases, the original features have been changed to get the appropriate likeness, modelling new noses, mouths or eyes, and the artist writes that this is the hardest part. For more info check out his website  HERE!

Ooak - Greta Garbo Fairy

The Greta Garbo fairy is entirely made of polymer clay without the use of molds. She was sculpted from my own mix of polymer clay and followed all the procedures advised by the manufacturer in order to have a durable work. Her skin has been hand painted to give her a natural rosy blush look with genesis paints. Her highly detailed face has been hand painted with genesis heat set paints and sealed.
She is supported by a strong wire structure to make sure her fragile body is properly supported.

Greta Garbo fairy is a beautiful young woman. She measures about 8,5" in standing pose. Her eyes are a fabulous blue eyes hand by me and insert on her face.

Her wing are real cicada wings, durable and very resistent, they are beautiful. Her hair is soft, dark lond quality mohair.Greta is a fabulous One Of A Kind do ll, absolutely no molds were used to make any part of this fantastic Doll.  She comes with a beautiful handmade mini pilow and a wooden base and also handpainted by be to look like a floor . She is waiting eagerly for you to bring her home. She comes signed by me, Eneida Onofre Rosa and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

GRETA GARBO TRIBUTE DOLL BY NAV SIKAND

The face of Greta Garbo has become legendary. Few actresses have attained her status as hollywood royalty. Recognised as a legend in her own time, Greta had the rare combination of beauty, charisma and acting ability. She was unforgettable in films like FLESH & THE DEVIL, ROMANCE, MATA HARI, NINOTCHKA, CAMILLE, ANNA KARENINA and GRAND HOTEL. Inspired by this formidable lady, I began work on my tribute to Greta Garbo.  The doll is limited to one piece and was/is for sale at Ebay see  HERE!

   
   
 

Here is an account of the work that was done:

HAIR  Her long hair was cut and styled into a short bob. A side parting was rooted in in a beautiful frosted Brownette shade. The hair is a unusual shade of light golden brown as Greta had in life. The end have been permed with large curls. It is a permanent style, but I fixed with hairspray to give it that real authentic look. Greta is fully rooted and her hair can be washed and combed if you so wish but if you do decide to do this, her hairstyle might be difficult to restyle in the original set.

FACE  All original make-up was gently removed, and her entire face was repainted using artist's acrylic paints and sealers. Her penciled and stylized eyebrows were rendered in light brown. Her eyes were painted with various shades of cobalt blue and Aqua to capture Greta's green / Blue eye colour. They were then lined with a rich black eyeliner and a pale cream eyeshadow. Her eyesockets were given a dark brown shaddow to highlight Greta's heavy lidded bedroom eyes. Real eyelashes were applied to give her a truly sultry and glamorous look, while the lower one are painted. A very light peach blush was also added and facial shading given to her nose and cheekbones to complete the likeness. I painted her lips in dark red and brown and used a high gloss varnish on the lips and the eyes to really give Greta a "living" look. Her eyes and shimmering lips really do catch the light beautifully.

CLOTHES  Greta's stylish outfit is a copy of one she wore in the film GRAND HOTEL and was specially commisioned for the doll. It is a peach satin and lace neglige with a beautiful matching nightgown. This is embelished with silver and gold brocade trim on the collar and cuffs. Tiny pearl effect buttons fasten it together along with a matching satin belt. Silver effect slippers and tan hose and knickers complete the ensemble.

BODY  Greta is fully posable and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees, allowing for very realistic poses (please see photos). Greta will be sent safely to you in a sturdy box, and also comes with her posing stand. I have many more photographs of her, so please ask if you would like to see these. She really is a beauty and has a very enigmatic and life like presence. She will be a jewel in your doll collection so don't let her pass by.
